Nicola & Neil came to the studio last Saturday morning for a family photo shoot with their children Evie, Jude & Beck. I wanted to create something that was classic and timeless so we went with a plain black background and both Nicola & Evie were dressed in black and Neil and the boys were all in jeans and white shirts.

Charmaine & Chris – Wedding February 25, 2012

I knew I would love this wedding, I also knew it would be one of the most amazing weddings that I have ever photographed! When not only the are the Bride & Groom in the wedding industry but also the Brides Mum who owns Tiara & Tails Bridal Boutique you just know it it will be spectacular. Charmaine who always looks stunning even managed to out do herself on her wedding day (although I wish they had looked at my schedule, as 10 minutes after we were scheduled to leave Boys Hall where they had been getting dress, Charmaine was just putting her dress on!!!).

Charmaine’s dress was from a newly stocked range from the very beautiful Brides Desire collection of bridal gowns, her shoes were by Benjamin Adams both available from Tiara & Tails. The rings were from Duo Design.

No one would have guessed when they booked the wedding for February that the day would be so warm, which meant everyone was able to enjoy being outside on the terrace at Lympne Castle.

Mr Rippington 1953 – 2012

By now you will have heard the dreadful story of the coach crash in France in the early hours of Sunday morning carrying school children home from a weeks sking trip in Italy back home to Alvechurch. For most it will have been a headline that will have stopped them for a moment and then they carried on with their day, thinking nothing more than it is someone else’s children or family and that it will never be something that will touch their lives! However on this given Sunday it was my families turn to feel the awful helplessness of having someone in the crash and knowing the teacher that died.

It was just a normal Sunday wedding fair when I got the call that you dread, my beautiful God Daughter Alia (above) was on the coach that crashed, that several children had injuries and that one person was dead. For the next few hours we waited to hear news that she was OK escaping with cuts and bruises, however her friends were not so lucky and have broken bones and one person was in a coma.

Then came the news that the teacher was Mr Rippington, or Peter as I knew him as, we grew up in the same village, he only ever wanted to be a teacher, I remember when he started at Alvechurch he was one of the nicest people that you would ever want to meet, he always wore shorts and you knew it was really cold if he had track suit bottoms on! To my own children he was ‘sir, or Mr Rip!! Having taught them Maths & PE and also been their football coach. He loved children and they in turn loved him back, he made school a nicer place to be.

For any school to have such a tragedy happen it would be sad, but to happen in a village such as Alvechurch it is harder, it is a village that is close knit, teachers start their careers here and never leave until they retire. What is so sad that Mr Rippington was on his last Ski trip before he was due to retire this summer, he wanted it to be a trip that everyone would remember, sadly it is for all the wrong reasons.

It is always a privilege to be asked to photograph any couples wedding, I never dismiss the great compliment that comes with being selected by a couple and I never take the responsibility lightly. So when a couple that are also in the same industry ask you to photograph their wedding day it gives you an even more warm fuzzy feeling……

Charmaine owns and runs Beautilicious Make-up and Chris is Chris Harding is a very talented Magician and to top it all Charmaine’s Mum is Helena who owns Tiara & Tail’s Bridal Boutique, so it really is a wedding industry wedding.

Charmaine & Chris had been putting off their pre wedding photo shoot as they really wanted snow, so imagine the excitement when snow hit Kent on Saturday evening!!

Today Charmaine and Chris came into the studio to see all the photographs taken, they love them and have decided to have a Guest Book so that family and friends can share their thoughts and best wishes on the wedding day.

Newborn Baby Shoot ~ Willow 5 days old

In December we photographed Alex’s Pregnancy Shoot, so we were very excited to hear that Baby Willow was a New Year’s Eve arrival, and even more excited that both Alex & Chris were bringing her into the Studio on the 5th day of her life! She is absolutely beautiful and was the perfect model.

Here are a few of my personal favourites, and I know that Alex & Chris had many more that they just loved as well.
